For BBC micro:bit, the Halo board adds color to your next project. The Halo board features 24 ZIP LEDs, which are full-color LEDs that can be individually addressable. This means that each LED can display a huge range of colors, allowing you to achieve amazing color effects.

The Halo board is fixed directly to the BBC micro:bit using five strong and stable bolts. The board also features expansion connector pads (0.1" pitch) to allow more ZIP LEDs to be connected. The micro:bit's P1 and P2 pins are also broken out to 0.1-inch pads, along with power and GND. This enables additional connections to low-power components such as sensors and switches.

The input supply voltage range of Halo is 3.5V to 5V, which can provide stable power to BBC micro:bit at the same time. Power can be supplied via a 3 AAA battery pack, a LiPo battery or a JST connector via the JST input connection. Alternatively, you can solder the power supply directly to the solder pads on the PCB.

The LEDs used are based on the WS2812B device and are compatible with any WS2812B driver code. They can also be coded in the MakeCode blocks/javascript editor.
